The Nisga'a museum is a 10,000 square foot world class facility with a class A climate controlled gallery space. It is the only class A facility in the northwest.

It's stunning architecture is rooted in tradition - the floor plan emulates a traditional feast bowl, the soaring roof line resembles a canoe and the cross section is similar to that of a traditional long house.

Celebrating a Legacy

We are Nisga'a, People of the Nass River. We have lived here, on British Columbia's northwest coast, since time immemorial. Long enough to see our culture thrive, adapt, and endure. To honour and celebrate that legacy, Nisga'a Lisims Government is building the Nisga'a Museum in the village of Laxgalts'ap, 150 kilometres northwest of Terrace.

This landmark facility will provide a fitting home for internationally significant Nisga'a artifacts, a place for sharing traditions and ideas and a centre for research and learning.
